Privacy Policy

MacCiv · Last updated: 13 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the MacCiv app ("MacCiv", "we", "us"), developed by Giacomo Stirpe, handles information when you use it on iPhone, iPad and Mac. By using MacCiv you agree to this policy.

1. Information we do not collect

MacCiv has no user accounts and no login. The structural models and projects you create are stored locally on your device (and in your own iCloud/Files if you save them there). We do not collect, transmit or store your project data on our servers — we don't operate any.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of MacCiv shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process information such as device identifiers, advertising ID, IP address, approximate location and app‑usage/diagnostic data. This is governed by Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy (see also How Google uses data).

3. App Tracking Transparency & consent

On iOS, before any tracking that uses the device advertising identifier, MacCiv shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, you still see ads, but non‑personalized ones. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, MacCiv also presents a Google‑certified consent message (GDPR) before requesting ads, and your choice determines whether personalized ads are shown.

4. In‑app purchases

MacCiv offers a one‑time "MacCiv Pro" purchase (removes ads). Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment‑card details; Apple handles the transaction and shares only the information needed to validate your purchase. See Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.

5. Support emails

If you email us at maccivapp@gmail.com, we receive your email address and message so we can reply. We use this only to provide support and do not use it for marketing.

6. Data sharing & sale

We do not sell your personal data. Information is shared only with the service providers named above (Google, Apple) strictly to run advertising and purchases.

7. Children

MacCiv is a professional/educational engineering tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your rights (EEA/UK)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can change your ad‑consent choice at any time in the app, and you can manage tracking in your device's iOS Settings. To exercise any right, contact us at the email below.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected here.
